Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda has approved the construction of 500 houses within the state, which is in partnership with the federal government.

Situated near Umaru Musa Yar’adua University in Katsina, the allotted 25-hectare site serves as the foundation for the federal government’s Renewed Hope City Project.

This crucial decision was made public by the governor’s chief press secretary, Mallam Ibrahim Kaula, in a statement released in Katsina over the weekend. During a meeting on Thursday, January 19, 2024, in Abuja, the permission was formally conveyed to the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Alhaji Ahmed Musa-Dangiwa, through the Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Dr. Faisal Kaita.

Constructing dynamic housing communities across the country is the goal of the Renewed Hope City Project, which was introduced in October 2023. Approximately 1,000 housing units are targeted in each state and 4,000 units in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as part of this plan, which focuses on housing and urban development. President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and this go hand in hand.

After the initiative was introduced nationally, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development asked each state for a land allotment, highlighting the importance of strategically located parcels.

Kaula underscores the vital importance that these allocations play in guaranteeing the triumphant execution of the ambitious Renewed Hope City Project and how such a cooperative endeavour is an indicator to Katsina’s dedication to actively participate in the national affordable housing solutions project, which is essential to the nation’s overall development goals.
