In an effort to lessen the effects of climate change, the Plateau State Council of the Society of Landscape Architects of Nigeria (SLAN) has emphasised the importance of promoting green infrastructures.

The organisation just wrapped off its yearly “Green WALK for a Green Space” campaign, which promoted walking as a critical tactic to cut carbon emissions and address climate change head-on, according to a statement.

Simultaneously, SLAN underscored the necessity of creating green infrastructure in order to promote outdoor activities and a walking culture.

The president of SLAN, Mr. Amos Alao, reiterated the campaign’s main goals of raising awareness of climate change and highlighting the environmentally friendly solutions suggested by landscape architects.
In an intense appeal, he emphasised the urgency of the Landscape Architecture bill now being considered by the National Assembly and urged Nigerians to support it.
