The Master Plan for Ilorin, Kwara State capital, will be unveiled on Wednesday, May 11, at the state’s Banquet Hall, Ilorin, the Chairman, Working Committee on the Master Plan, Shittu AbdulMutalib, had said.

According to him, the modeling, which would be subjected to public appraisal for 28days, will be laid before the state’s House of Assembly for its consequent passage into a law.

Some of the features in the Master Plan include industrial park, mass transit, international market, special economic zone, new cities for housing, industrial and education purposes.

He noted that the kennels of the master plan contracted to ‘Dar Al-Handasah’ company would be the control of ecological factors, especially flooding and storms.

AbdulMutalib, who spoke in Ilorin during a press briefing ahead of the event, said, “By 2042, the master plan will drive Ilorin towards its full potential and become an exemplarily resilient city.

with thriving employment and equal opportunities, providing a high quality of life for all its residents.

“Besides, the Chairman said the proposition would fast track the release by the Federal Government, the ecological intervention funds meant for control of erosion in the state. It will strengthen our case to get more funds from the approving authority.”
