The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved a 40% rebate on Planning Permit assessment for Civil Servants in the State.

The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide who made this known in Alausa , said that Governor Sanwo-Olu graciously approved the rebate to encourage home ownership among Lagos State civil servants and improve their productivity.

He added that through this move, every civil servant in the State would have the opportunity to access the rebate.

He explained that this initiative, together with other employee welfare measures of his administration, was to lessen the burden of home ownership and ensure that civil servants approach their retirement with confidence.

The Commissioner noted that to qualify for the rebate, an intending worker must produce a clearance from the Head of Service of Lagos State and meet the requirements of the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority( LASPPPA), including evidence of land ownership and the production of survey and building plans with standard setbacks and airspaces among others.

He expressed the belief that the development would help enhance dedication to duty and improve outputs while emphasising the importance of Planning Permit to livable and sustainable built environment.
