Three people comprising two site supervisors at No. 5, Eromosele street, Parkview Estate Ikoyi namely: Samuel Adeleke 31, Oyewole Israel 21 and one Alhaji Morufu Alade 53 years have been arrested by the Enforcement Team of Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority, LASPPPA and members of Lagos State Task Force for violating the State’s Physical Planning Permit Law.

The three violators, according to the General Manager of LASPPPA, Tpl. Kehinde Osinaike will be prosecuted for breaking government seals unlawfully, bye-passing the restriction placed on the above property by the Authority and continuing construction works without authorisation.

Explaining why the violators were arrested, Osinaike recalled that the property was served notices and sealed by LASPPPA officials after which the owner of the said property went on to bye-pass the seal and instructed his workers to go back to site without due recourse of visiting the District office of LASPPPA at Ikoyi to start the process of obtaining a permit before continuing construction.

He said the arrest would serve as a deterrent to miscreants and others who are in the habits of violating Physical Planning Permit Laws of Lagos State by removing seals without authorization.

While urging those in the act of removing seals unlawfully to desist from such, the General Manager said “the state will no longer condone any disregard to Town Planning Laws as this usually results to losses in the long run.”

In a related development, the agency re-sealed an illegal Petrol Filling Station at the at 1 Robinson Gbagi street, Ajao Estate during a joint enforcement exercise with officials of Lagos State Building Control Agency, LASBCA.

It was discovered that the owner of the Filling Station went ahead to continue construction despite the stop work order and sealing of the site exactly on March 18, 2022 due to non-conformity to Physical Planning Regulations.
