The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has threatened legal action against those illegally constructing structures at the Abuja Technology Village, giving them an ultimatum to relocate.

Announcing this, Wike and the Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, inspected the site in Pyakasa, Abuja, on Monday, February 19, 2024.

According to the FCT Minister, an agreement was reached with illegal occupants in 2015, and they were instructed to relocate, but when the number of dwellings continued to rise, the government realized it needed to take decisive action to disseminate its message.

The Minister of Science and Technology explained that the Federal Government is trying to embrace emerging technologies, which makes the Abuja Technology Village a highly desirable place to house them. As a result, the government has to mark the area to draw investors and advance its objectives.
