The Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN) yesterday said 30 individuals and corporate bodies would be inducted into the Affordable Housing Hall of Fame.
In a statement yesterday, HDAN said the Yobe State Governor Mai Bala Buni would be named Nigeria’s Housing Friendly Governor of the Year for announcing 50 percent subsidy on houses built for civil servants.
Also to be awarded include Daily Trust, Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-rufai and Gboyega Fatimilehin.
The founder of Imani Estate, Malam Abdul Abubakar, will be posthumously inducted for his pioneering role in estate development in the FCT.
Executive Director, HDAN, Festus Adebayo, said the induction was to honour those who had made very significant impact in the development of the housing sector in Nigeria.
He said the honour was also to inspire the public and private sectors to be at the vanguard of fulfilling the dreams of Nigerians to own decent housing.
He said during the award ceremony, political parties would be interrogated on their plans to ensure decent and affordable housing for all classes of Nigerians.
